As part of the project ‘The Renaissance of a Great Place‘, the Federal Executive listed a series of actions that will benefit in the short and medium-term fate of this Mexican Pacific: The expansion of tourist at the end of six years, 500 thousand new construction 2 hotel rooms, the building of roads undertaken two key highway projects Oaxaca-Mitla-Tehuantepec-Salina Cruz Huatulco and Oaxaca–Puerto Escondido and the granting of credits and micro-loans to small and medium enterprises, establishment of a Naval Zone and completion of the Naval Hospital, as well as improving the educational infrastructure.

At the same time seek to raise the quality of life for the inhabitants of Huatulco through housing programs for workers with incomes of less than five minimum wages and diversify the orientation of the destination with thematic and cultural attractions and expansion of the airport runway to receive, directly, tourism in Europe and Asia.

As part of the proposed revival of Huatulco, will be carried out various investments in hotel infrastructure which will be distributed as follows: 951 rooms in La Esperanza, in charge of the company ALDESA; 128 rooms for the expansion of the Gala Hotel, 393 rooms in the Hotel Secrets from AM Resorts; 98 rooms in the joint COSMO Residences; 230 rooms for the Recoleta and 78 rooms in the beach entrance, which together added 877 thousand rooms.
The Director General of the National Fund for Tourism Promotion (FONATUR), Miguel Gomez Mont said that the bays Cacaluta, Body and Maguey, it will attract international hotel chains and real estate for the development of high-quality projects.
